BASIN BAY

Tucked into the woods above Basin Bay on Lake George, this cedar-planked cabin has the kind of character that only comes from decades of summers. The goal was never to modernize it. It was to make it work beautifully for the next generation while keeping every bit of its rustic, analog soul. The cabin's stone chimney, warm wood walls, and quiet woodland setting guided every decision.
I reworked the kitchen layout and baths, and designed a lighting plan built around the cabin's cedar walls: vintage-inspired chandeliers, pendants, and sconces in place of anything that would read as new. Details like an open vintage shelf in the kitchen and finishes chosen to age gracefully keep it feeling collected rather than renovated.
This one is personal. I grew up summering on Lake George, where my great-grandfather built our family's lake house, and I know how much these places hold. The best compliment a camp like this can get is that nothing feels changed, only better.
